JTPS Selected for Statewide Preschool Inclusion Partnership

Jefferson Township Public Schools has been accepted into the New Jersey Preschool Inclusive Education Project (NJPIEP) for the 2026–2027 school year.  

NJPIEP is a collaborative initiative funded by the New Jersey Department of Education Office of Special Education in partnership with Montclair State University’s Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health. The program works with select school districts to strengthen inclusive learning practices in early childhood education.  

Rather than a one-size-fits-all curriculum change, this partnership provides our district with direct Systemic Change Facilitation. Over the upcoming school year, JTPS early childhood educators and administrators will receive:  

• Targeted Coaching & Technical Assistance: Specialized guidance tailored to our district’s specific early childhood goals.
• Professional Development: Research-based tools and strategies to help teachers differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
• System Leadership Support: Resources to build sustainable, long-term inclusive frameworks across our preschool classrooms.  

Inclusion means ensuring that all students — regardless of learning style or ability level — have full access to high-quality, engaging early learning environments alongside their peers.  

Our participation in NJPIEP strengthens our district's commitment to proactive early intervention and ensures our staff has the resources needed to help every young learner establish a strong foundation for long-term academic success.
